31JUL37 | Arrived at Adelaide as deck cargo on the S.S. "Mirrabooka" which had called at Napier N.Z. en route. |
12AUG37 | Registration application from Guinea Airways Ltd. CofR No 656 and CofA No 613 issued as VH-UXI and test flown on the same day. |
16AUG37 | Entered service on Guinea Airways' Adelaide to Darwin route named "Moresby". |
18DEC39 | Departed Darwin for Adelaide at 0535. Twenty miles out of Darwin the starboard engine failed and the aircraft turned back. With the starboard engine on fire and unable to maintain height, the aircraft was force landed in the dark in trees adjacent to the railway line about a mile south of Darwin. Captain Nobby Buckley and First Officer U.G. Edgerton evacuated the ten Army passengers and their baggage before the aeroplane was destroyed by fire. |
