Super Constellation VH-EAO Southern Aurora at Mascot in the late fifties when many airlines were experimenting with DayGlo high visibility paint. The TAA Viscount in the foreground demonstrates TAA's fleet wide adoption of DayGlo. Qantas trialled the paint in place of the usual Carnation Red on the tip tanks of VH-EAO but it appears that it never progressed beyond the trial stage. Some reports suggest that the trial paint was fluorescent pink but this photograph suggests that DayGlo Fire Orange was used.
