A89-278 awaits its turn to display at an open day at Richmond on 12
April 1975. The aircraft had departed Townsville on 1 April 1975 accompanied
by A89-279 for air displays at Pearce, Laverton, Fairbairn and Richmond
before returning to Townsville on 14 April. All displays were flown
in A89-278 commanded by Flt Lt P.A. Ware with A89-279 providing the
static display. This image well illustrates the gloss finish of the
Light Gull Grey colour scheme. A89-278 was test flown at 2AD Richmond
on 13 February 1975 so it is likely that the aircraft was repainted
at that time.
