P2V-5 A89-307 at Brisbane Eagle Farm with A89-312 in the background. The date of this photo is not known but on 20 February 1959, both these aircraft were en route from Richmond to Hawaii when A89-307 experienced an over-speeding prop on the port engine, prompting a diversion to Brisbane. Apparent activity around the port engine of 307 suggests that the photo was taken on this occasion. This image well demonstrates the Glossy Sea Blue finish in which these aircraft were delivered. A89-307 went back to Lockheed on 25 July 1959 to be fitted with jet pods.
