While the Altair was still on the deck of the Mariposa, the name ANZAC was obscured by brown paper at the insistence of the Returned and Services League. Probably little if any of the brown paper remained after the Altair's first flight in Australia from Anderson Park to Mascot on 17 July 1934. Shortly thereafter, the aeroplane was renamed Lady Southern Cross. © 2008 Balázs Bálint
